There's nothing new under the sun. King Solomon said that. Wisest human whoever lived, who was enticed away by his own lusts. None of us are immune.

Here's your 15 minute cliffnotes dive into pharmakeia. The Greek word for sorcery is pharmakeia. In classical Greek pharmakeia referred to the use of drugs and medicines in a more sinister purpose- spells, poison, and the occult. The whole idea conveys black magic and demonic control. These are things I first learned when I became a born again Christian, but I believe as a whole, the world is ignorant to this. Or at least they are so entwined in sorcery without even recognizing it, that they just don't care. I think humanity would be astounded if the veil was completely lifted and they realized just how supernatural this world is. Sorcery and witchcraft exist, even if you don't believe in them. In the Old Testament the Lord says, "I do not permit a sorcerer to live." (Exodus 22:18) He wouldn't say this without a reason. He says it because it is real, and we've just been conditioned to see it as a silly cartoon or a scary movie.

When you look at modern day medicine, it looks a lot like sorcery. Think of some of the things that go into vaccines, like metals, animal parts, and even fetal cells. Sounds like a spell. "Eye of newt, toe of frog, dash of mercury." Why would we put these things in our body? 

And what about drug abuse? We all know that drugs, both illegal and legal, have a chemical effect on us. When we are not sober we become a gateway to the demonic. We all know that the drug epidemic has soared over the past few decades, and honestly, I can understand why. Life is hard, and when you don't turn to Christ, you find yourself turning to vices to help dull and numb the pain. I get it. 

A lot of this comes down to personal conviction, because where do you draw the line? I don't think it's a sin to take insulin if you're diabetic, or allergy shots if you have asthma. It's not always easy to discern where science ends and spirituality begins, but take a minute and watch this video. See if your spirit convicts you.
