4 little monkeys jumping on the bed

Imagine if you will.....It is a below freezing night in Pennsylvania. You are taking your dog out for the last time of the night when you hear a loud rustling in the trees behind you. Suddenly a chimpanzee swings forward, and when your dog tries to protect you, the chimp bites you on the arm. You go to the hospital and receive the adequate rabies shots. Unfortunately you die of a mysterious new disease and become patient zero of the new outbreak: monkeypox. At least you weren't counted a covid death though. Small victory.

This sounds like the beginning of a very bad sci-fi movie. Seems preposterous, right?

Last night monkeys escaped after a truck that was delivering 100 animals to a lab crashes. As of right now, all but 4 of them have been caught. As soon as I saw that news story this morning my mind immediately thought back to how the US bought $113 worth of smallpox vaccines back in November. I wonder if the monkeys were headed to the lab in Pennsylvania where they recently 'discovered' six lost vials of smallpox. In potentially related news, also back in November a case of monkeypox was confirmed in a Maryland resident who had recently returned from Nigeria.

I have been telling Peppy that it seems suspicious to me that suddenly mandates and restrictions are dropping from seemingly nowhere. It is almost like the narrative is suddenly shifting to "coronavirus will become a seasonal flu, deal with it" which many of us have been saying for over a year. This big awakening that so many hoped for is not going to happen. It looks like coronavirus is going just fade away.

Nothing like giving the people a little bit of hope, only to knock us down again. If monkeypox does become an outbreak (and right now this is just pandemic fanfiction in my mind,) most of our immune systems are probably pretty low after two years of stress and trauma, not to mention those who have contracted covid or taken the vaccines. I'm sure that hasn't done ANYTHING good to our bodies. Bill Gates has also recently warned of potential pandemics 'far worse than covid.'

I also had the thought that humans have become so vain with their filtered and autotuned faces, that they might prefer a world with a meticulous looking avatar in the metaverse over their real life body that might be covered in pox scars. And of course that made my brain jump to Revelation 16:1 "The first angel went and poured out his bowl on the land, and ugly and painful sores broke out on the people who had the mark of the beast and worshiped his image."

The clot thickens.
