weird things are happening v.92

*The New York Times crossword puzzle was looking a little odd on the first day of Hanukkah.

*As China pushes its digital currency the US falls right behind.

*After a storm, parts of whales wash up on NYC streets.

*Oxford, England introduces restrictions for private vehicles starting in 2023. It sounds like just driving to work every day will use up your allotted credits.

*The CDC page shows that heart attacks are occurring more frequently in covid vaccinated young teen boys, and yet they still recommend them. Sometimes I just sit back and think about the insanity that the world is and I wonder how we got here, and my brain thinks that somehow this must be Satan's 'little season.' Reality has become like the worst scy-fy channel movie. Much worse than Sharknado and no one is really talking about it. They are just going about their lives like nothing is happening. It feels like I'm living in the movie "They Live."

*It is one degree here right now. The high today is only going to be twelve. Areas in the Plains and the Midwest are preparing for the coldest Christmas in 40 years. It may be cold here today, but at least it is sunny and the temperature will be back up to the 30s tomorrow. Peppy's sister and her husband were visiting earlier this week and left for Ohio early to try to beat the storms. When Peppy was there for the wedding he went to a gas station and said this five minute blizzard type storm just came out of nowhere and then was over.

*Over 300,000 people are without power on the east coast and in Texas due to winter storms.

*Thousands of wild birds are dying from avian flu.

*Facial recognition software gets mom booted from a girl scout outing to the Rockettes, due to where the mother works.

*This was a crazy story. For the last two years a thief continues to find new ways to break in and steal from a nonprofit Christmas present organization,

*The average American logs ten sleepless nights a month. Is this really true? Sleeplessness almost 1/4 of the month sounds insane. I would go crazy.

*Take a brief glimpse into our sad future with this fully automated McDonalds.

*Tiktok was caught spying on Forbes journalists.

*Hundreds of mysterious metal rabbit statues are popping up around Fort Myers, Florida.

*Here's a list of last minute gift items. I like looking through these lists in the same way that I always enjoyed looking through a catalogue. I just wish I could smell the pages. Anyway, if you really are looking for a last minute gift idea, might I suggest either a food gift (like some fancy looking brands of candy and snacks from TJ Maxx or Marshalls,) or an experience gift like movie tickets or a museum pass. Or those monthly food subscriptions. I've always wanted to try Universal Yums, but I just can't justify it as an extra monthly expense. Peppy's job just sent us a meat and cheese tray which is not something we would have bought ourselves, but we have really been enjoying it. I think that is why food gifts can be so much fun, because it's something special that you probably wouldn't spend money on yourself. Oh yeah, and always say no to cologne. That is a tip from everyone in the entire world.
